Happy Birthday, Bear!

Is it that time again? It's crazy how fast a year can come and go. Shaye just turned 24 on Thursday. Somehow that sounds so old. Birthdays are always an interesting event at our house because we were brought up with such different traditions. While my family makes a huge deal of birthdays; Shaye's family don't so much. So I always wind up planning some big party for him, and he feels uncomfortable with so much attention being directed at him. I love it! :)

This year, Shaye's family got the hint and we had a big party for him at his parents' house. We had the usual cake and ice cream and then chatted in the yard with Shaye's siblings and watched our nieces and nephews swim. It was one of those beautiful, perfect evenings. Happy Birthday, Bear!

Nichole's Wedding

Here are some fun pics we took at Nichole's wedding last weekend! Talk about a high school reunion!

This is the AMAZING cake that Angie Hoopes made! Go Ang!

Nikki, Me, Katie, and Marci

I have the cutest friends!

My Hair Is Gone!

My friends, I finally made the plunge. For so long I've been thinking about cutting my hair short and have been putting it off. When it grew down to my lower back, I decided enough was enough and cut about 14 inches off last weekend. Wahoo! Marci did such a great job that I haven't even regretted in one bit! Yey!

Fun Weekend!

This weekend, we did two fun things. First, I walked at DSC commencement for my BA in English. (Even though I officially graduated in December). And I went to Nichole Gardner's bridal shower. What a fun weekend! Here are some pics...

Everyone Loves David

Week after week I am continuously impressed with David Archuleta on American Idol. Not only is he cute as a button. He's totally humble... not to mention, an AMAZING performer. Yey for our little Utahn! I'm totally rooting for him to win the competition. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

Fun at In-N-Out

We are so excited that we have a new In-N-Out Burger in St. George. Even though it just opened this past Monday and we heard that the lines we crazy long we decided to go there for Friday-date-night. From the pictures below you can see what happens to us when you mix great fast food with our goofy senses of humor.

Trying my hand at Crafts

So...I've decided that I've found a new way to expend nervous energy--CRAFTING! If you need to run away from reality for awhile, or if you want to avoid the general minutia that can come from life, quilting is the perfect solution. Recently I've had a lot of fun making rag quilts. They are so fun and easy and make great gifts. Below are pictures of a table runner I made (they didn't have one that fit our table at the store) and a baby quilt that I made for my friend Katie. Now, I think I'll try my hand at knitting. Wish me luck!
