Since my parents are always out of town on the 4th, we've made a habit of making it a simple but sweet holiday. This year did not disappoint. We went swimming at Nana's pool...

And we did fireworks in the Scotts' dark cul-de-sac. To my surprise, neither kid was at all afraid.
Em loved the sparklers.
